Results Analyst - Irvine, CA
- This is a long term contract opportunity and is expected to last 18 months.
Results Analyst - Job Summary:
- The Results Analysis group, which falls within the Information and Insights organization, is a global team with locations in Los Angeles, Irvine, London, and Singapore. The group is responsible for delivering accurate and timely data to external clients and internal client-facing individuals. We are looking to add a contingent worker to the Irvine office to focus specifically on the Private Client Service ("PCS") line of business.
Investment results measurement - calculating, validating, maintaining, and interpreting portfolio investment results for separately managed accounts, mutual funds and composites.
Investment results evaluation and risk analysis - calculation and interpretation; portfolio attribution, style analysis, benchmark analysis, transaction and holdings analysis (e.g., portfolio concentration and overlap, portfolio turnover, etc.)
Data analysis - Validating and integrating data from multiple platforms or products to build custom exhibits; using various tools to pull and manipulate data.
Systems analysis - Identifying and troubleshooting issues, researching transaction posting, or evaluating how to process and report new investment types.
Business Intelligence and Reporting - Using Excel, Tableau, Crystal Reports, or Business Objects to develop creative and compelling exhibits.
Client Service Team support - explaining calculations, researching issues, and fulfilling ad hoc reporting and data requests.
Monitor and liaise with external vendors - Ensuring external vendor adherence to agreed-upon accuracy and timeliness standards, using existing controls and procedures.
Process optimization - Proposing recommendations for enhancements, process and control improvements. Developing best practices, increasing efficiency, enhancing capabilities, and mitigating risks.
Designing and Programming solutions - Works directly with teammates to identify, define, adjust and implement creative and sustainable business solutions, utilizing technology to streamline and automate tasks to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
Ensuring compliance - developing, maintaining and adhering to procedures to ensure SEC and GIPS compliance.
Project support - partnering with other business units, our Information Technology Group, or external vendors.
Job Requirements and Skills:
Candidates are preferred to have a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, MIS or other quantitative field.
High service orientation, integrity, and ownership of work; Strong communication skills; Interpersonal savvy and an ability to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge and interest in finance and asset management; An ability to analyze both data and processes;
Intermediate to advance Excel and Access skills (macros, functions, charting, pivot tables, tables, queries, forms, modules)
A related charter (CIPM, CFA, and/or FRM), a related MBA, or have related experience in the field.
Investment operations background in a performance measurement or portfolio accounting capacity
Intermediate to advance knowledge and practical experience using SQL, Sybase, Oracle, VBA, R and/or other programming languages.
Data modeling, data manipulation skills, or experience with data warehouse design.
Prior experience in support of the high net worth wealth management business.
Prior experience with related systems (e.g., First Rate, FactSet Portfolio Analysis, Bloomberg, MorningStar Direct, BI-SAM B-One, Advent APX, Tableau, Business Objects, or Crystal).
Compensation: $40 - $50/hour
